Membership, visits and medication are three separate costs
The published offer adds $19.99/month membership after a free first month to each visit: an insurance copay or $129 self-pay. Medication and labs cost extra, and a completed clinical assessment is generally not refundable just because no prescription is issued.

The verdict
PlushCare places weight management inside a broader virtual primary-care service. That can be useful if you want a physician who can discuss weight alongside other concerns, but the recurring membership does not buy unlimited visits or medication. Public pricing shows a free first month of membership, then $19.99/month, plus a visit copay with eligible insurance or a $129 self-pay visit. An annual membership is separately listed at $149 prepaid. Prescriptions and testing remain separate bills, and insurance coverage for visits does not establish coverage for a particular drug. The weight-management pathway may include an initial consultation, ordered labs and another visit before a treatment decision. Prescriptions go to your chosen pharmacy, so this is not a published all-in medication-delivery program. Refund wording deserves particular attention: inability to treat or assess can qualify for an appointment refund, but a clinician’s assessment, lab order or advice without a prescription generally does not. Membership cancellation and appointment cancellation also have different deadlines. Compare the likely number of visits and your pharmacy quote before treating the low membership fee as your treatment budget.

What you actually pay, month to month
$19.99/month plus visits, medication and labs. The first membership month is free. A self-pay month with one $129 visit would be $148.99 before drugs or testing; a month with no visit still carries the membership fee until canceled. Annual membership is separately listed at $149 prepaid.
The commitment trap
The free month covers membership, not the doctor’s visit, lab work or medication. Paying for membership does not guarantee a prescription or make visits free.
Money you will meet later
- Annual membership is $149 billed yearly, not a $12.42 monthly invoice. Confirm the term, renewal date and refund conditions before prepaying.
- The published self-pay doctor visit rate is $129. Insured patients may owe copays, deductibles, coinsurance or a remaining balance after a claim; the advertised $30-or-less figure is not a universal copay.
- Medication is purchased separately from your chosen pharmacy. The weight-loss page does not supply a complete current drug-and-dose cash-price table; obtain the exact prescription quote and coverage decision.
- Laboratory testing is separate. Selected Quest tests are advertised at $15 per test with a prepaid lab slip requested before testing; this is not a complete weight-management panel for $15. Home kits have separate panel prices and $19–$59 kitting/shipping fees.
- Appointment cancellation or rescheduling is free at least two hours ahead. Inside two hours, late cancellation or rescheduling costs $75; no-shows also cost $75. The policy says late cancellations and no-shows replace the quoted visit charge rather than add it.
- Membership renews after the trial unless canceled. The current help article asks patients to finish cancellation at least one calendar day before renewal. Membership cancellation does not itself cancel a booked appointment.
- Appointment refunds cover specified inability-to-treat or assess, connectivity and doctor non-appearance situations; membership fees are excluded. Clinical assessment, advice, lab orders or referral without a prescription generally do not qualify. Prescription sales are final.
- The billing policy accepts HSA/FSA cards for visits but expressly excludes monthly or annual membership fees from HSA/FSA eligibility.

The public self-pay rate is $129 per doctor visit; insured responsibility varies. Physicians review medical history and goals, may order labs and decide whether treatment is appropriate. Current terms identify physician-owned professional corporations as the clinical providers; PlushCare and Fabric supply the platform.
Bloodwork / labs
Separate cost; prepaid Quest discounts have conditions
The service sends orders to Quest by default and can supply an order for another laboratory. Selected $15-per-test rates require a prepaid slip before testing. The clinician chooses the tests; no universal included panel or monitoring interval is promised.
Follow-ups and dose changes
Follow-up doctor visits remain separately billed
The weight-management pathway describes reviewing lab results and discussing prescribing at follow-up. Monitoring continues according to the care plan; no single monthly visit requirement is stated.

Unlimited Care Team messaging is included in membership
Support covers coordination, billing questions, referrals and prior-authorization assistance. Day/night appointment availability and messaging access do not guarantee an immediate physician reply or that the same doctor is always available.

PlushCare is not the pharmacy, and its terms make mail-order options conditional on medication, law and pharmacy processes. No universal medication shipping fee, dispatch date or included cold-chain service is published.
Pharmacy, labs and oversight
The pharmacy
Your chosen pharmacy; no assigned dispenser established. The weight-management page sends prescriptions to the patient’s pharmacy of choice. Current terms permit some mail-order options but do not identify a universal dispensing partner or establish a compounding-facility category.
Oversight
Follow-up doctor visits remain separately billed. The weight-management pathway describes reviewing lab results and discussing prescribing at follow-up. Monitoring continues according to the care plan; no single monthly visit requirement is stated.
Compounded peptides are not FDA-approved products, and a 503A pharmacy compounds for a named patient while a 503B outsourcing facility manufactures in batches under CGMP. Neither is a quality guarantee on its own — a named facility is simply a fact you can check, and an unnamed “partner pharmacy network” is not. Where you can get it
50 states with clinician-availability limits. You must be physically in a location where the treating clinician is licensed. Nationwide service does not guarantee that a specific provider, drug, insurance network or pharmacy route is available to every patient.
The honest cons
The part they would rather you skipped
You can pay for an assessment and still receive no prescription without qualifying for a refund. The refund policy excludes completed clinical assessment, advice, lab orders and referrals, while its limited appointment-refund exceptions do not cover membership fees. Separately, cancel membership at least one calendar day before renewal and handle any booked visit under the two-hour appointment rule.

Will PlushCare refund a visit if no medication is prescribed?
Not necessarily. Its policy generally excludes refunds after any clinical assessment, advice, lab order or referral, even without a prescription. Specified inability-to-treat or assess, connectivity and physician non-appearance situations can qualify for an appointment refund. Membership fees are excluded.
How do I cancel membership or an appointment?
The help article directs patients to the profile’s Payment and Insurance tab and the cancellation link, completing the process at least one calendar day before membership renewal. Terms also permit contacting support by email. Booked appointments need separate attention: cancel or reschedule at least two hours ahead to avoid a $75 late-change fee; no-shows also cost $75.

Some mail-order options depend on the drug, law and pharmacy processes; membership does not establish a universal dispensing partner or included shipping service. Care depends on your physical location and the treating clinician’s license. Confirm your chosen pharmacy and clinician availability before booking.
