Complete Care is $149 a month for self-pay medical and dietitian care. Prescriptions, labs and imaging are outside that fee. In-network patients can use per-visit insurance billing without buying the subscription, but plan exclusions and cost sharing still matter.

The verdict
Allara combines medical and registered-dietitian care for hormonal, metabolic and gynecological concerns, with GLP-1 prescribing available when appropriate. Its $149/month self-pay Complete Care program covers visits and ongoing support, while medications, laboratory work and imaging are billed separately; in-network patients can receive medical care on a per-visit basis without a required subscription. The useful distinction is between paying for care and paying for treatment: the published membership does not establish your pharmacy bill, and nutrition-only availability in five states does not mean prescription care is available there.

A good fit if
- You want a medical provider and registered dietitian involved in broader hormonal or metabolic care, rather than a medication shipment alone.
- You have an accepted insurance plan and can check specialist-visit and dietitian benefits before booking.
- You prefer a stated self-pay care fee and are prepared to budget separately for testing and prescriptions.
Look elsewhere if
- You need a single monthly price covering a GLP-1 prescription, labs, supplies and delivery.
- You expect Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Kaiser, an HMO or an ACA marketplace plan to pay for visits; the current pricing page excludes these plans.
- You live in Hawaii, Kansas, New Mexico, Rhode Island or South Carolina and need medical prescribing through this service; its homepage lists nutrition-only care in those states.
- You may need a guaranteed membership refund after receiving services or after a billing term ends.

Insured care follows your plan’s visit copays, coinsurance and deductible; subscription payment is not required for in-network medical visits. A branded GLP-1’s cost depends on the prescription, pharmacy and drug coverage, so neither the membership nor an insurance logo establishes the complete monthly bill.
The commitment trap
The published monthly amount buys medical and nutrition care, not an all-inclusive GLP-1 plan. The insurance and self-pay routes have different billing rules.
Money you will meet later
- Labs, imaging, prescriptions and optional supplements are billed separately; no guaranteed medication-inclusive total is published.
- Subscription cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice before the next billing cycle under the terms.
- Refund requests have a 30-day window and are discretionary; third-party goods and services are non-refundable, with further exclusions after service termination or a billing cycle ends.
- The telehealth consent describes an initial one-month non-cancellable subscription period and allows a missed-appointment charge when less than 24 hours’ notice is given. Confirm the amount and the terms attached to your program.

a treatment plan and support between appointments. Allara Medical Group, P.A. provides clinical services; Astrid Health, Inc., doing business as Allara, supplies administration and technology. A clinician decides whether a prescription or an in-person referral is appropriate.
Bloodwork / labs
Labs are billed separately; no included testing allowance
The team can recommend and coordinate testing, but that is not the same as paying the laboratory charge. The membership support page identifies Labcorp, Quest or other facilities as separate billers. Ask what panel is recommended, whether your existing results can be used and how your insurer handles that laboratory.

The separate nutrition-only program provides dietitian care without turning it into a prescribing service. Support can help with scheduling, billing and authorizations; it is not a substitute for the medical provider’s advice.

Ask the dispensing pharmacy what accompanies the particular pen, vial or other prescription and whether any equipment is a separate purchase.
Shipping
No universal prescription shipping charge
or dispatch promise is included in the published care fee. Prescriptions are separately billed by a pharmacy, so pickup, delivery and cold-chain arrangements must be confirmed for that prescription.
Pharmacy, labs and oversight
The pharmacy
Prescription pharmacy and final medication bill vary. Public medication pages describe branded GLP-1 options, including Wegovy and Zepbound, alongside other treatments; this does not identify a dispensing pharmacy for your prescription. The public pricing pages do not establish an assigned compounding facility or a 503A/503B category. Confirm the exact product and pharmacy rather than treating every Allara prescription as the same supply arrangement.

Compounded peptides are not FDA-approved products, and a 503A pharmacy compounds for a named patient while a 503B outsourcing facility manufactures in batches under CGMP. Neither is a quality guarantee on its own — a named facility is simply a fact you can check, and an unnamed “partner pharmacy network” is not. Hawaii, Kansas, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Carolina are listed for nutrition-only membership. Insurance participation also varies by state and specific plan. The visit guidance requires physical presence in the relevant state; confirm eligibility before travel or booking.
The honest cons
The part they would rather you skipped
The $149 care membership leaves several substantial bills outside the number: medication, labs and imaging. “Cancel anytime” also needs the terms beside it: give 48 hours’ notice before renewal, and do not treat the 30-day refund-request window as a guaranteed refund. The telehealth consent separately describes an initial one-month non-cancellable period.

Questions about Allara Health
Does Allara’s $149 include a GLP-1?
No. Complete Care is the self-pay care membership; medication, labs and imaging are separate. The eventual pharmacy bill depends on the prescription and coverage.
Do I need a membership if my insurance is accepted?
The terms say subscription payment is not required for in-network medical visits billed per visit. Your copay, coinsurance and deductible still apply, and acceptance depends on the actual plan and state.
Are blood tests included?
No included lab allowance is promised in the membership. The team can arrange testing, while the laboratory bills separately.
Can I get prescription care in every state?
No. The homepage lists Hawaii, Kansas, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Carolina for nutrition-only care; medical care is listed in the other 45 states and DC. Confirm plan and physical-location requirements.
What happens if I cancel?
