PreventiveMD review
A genuine refund policy, in a category that mostly has none
PreventiveMD's own cancellation policy grants a full refund any time before a provider has reviewed the request and before the pharmacy has shipped it — a documented, specific window most of this board simply doesn't publish — and checkout places an authorization hold rather than a charge until a provider actually approves.
Straight talk: how we earn — some, not all, of these are affiliate links; start a program through one and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Straight about the rest, too: the write-ups say what each provider is actually worth, and a commission does not change a word of them. Full disclosure here.

The verdict
PreventiveMD is one of the more straightforwardly priced names in this category: compounded semaglutide "as low as $83/mo, all-in" and tirzepatide "as low as $97/mo, all-in," a US-licensed provider reviewing requests within 24 hours with no video visit required, and — genuinely uncommon here — a published refund policy with real teeth. You can cancel for a full refund any time before a provider has reviewed your intake and before the pharmacy has shipped your order; after that, refunds narrow to duplicate charges, pricing errors, damaged items within 7 days, or an order PreventiveMD itself cancels, but the company commits to a specific timeline (acknowledge within 3 business days, decide within 10) rather than leaving the process undocumented. The site also offers brand-name Wegovy, Zepbound and the oral Foundayo, though that path carries its own separate $49/month membership fee stacked on top of the medication cost — a real second charge the compounded pricing does not have. The "as low as" qualifier on the compounded price is also worth reading literally: PreventiveMD's own copy says actual monthly cost can run higher depending on plan, and the pharmacy actually filling the prescription is never named.
PreventiveMD is not ranked on any of our boards. This is a standalone read of what the company publishes about itself — the providers we do rank in this category are on our semaglutide provider ranking. Nothing on this page is a performance claim — see the evidence review for what these compounds do and do not do.
Who it is for, and who it is not
A good fit if
- You want a documented refund window rather than a vague "contact us" policy — read the terms, but this is a real, specific one
- You want to see a real price before completing an intake, and you're not charged until a provider approves
- You want brand-name Wegovy, Zepbound or oral Foundayo on the same platform as the compounded options, and are willing to pay the separate $49/mo membership that path requires
Look elsewhere if
- You live in one of the 14 states plus DC PreventiveMD does not serve, including New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Wisconsin
- You want a named compounding pharmacy rather than a category description
- You want the $83/mo or $97/mo figure guaranteed rather than an "as low as" starting point that the site itself says can run higher
What it actually costs
What they advertise
"As low as $83/mo, all-in" for compounded semaglutide and "as low as $97/mo, all-in" for compounded tirzepatide. Brand Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo are priced separately plus a $49/mo membership fee.
What you actually pay, month to month
The compounded figures are real starting prices, not a teaser tied to a prepay or membership trap — but they are explicitly a floor: PreventiveMD's own copy states actual monthly cost can be higher depending on your plan, without publishing what drives that difference. The brand-name path is a genuinely separate structure: $49/mo membership plus the medication's own cost, which the site does not fold into one headline number.
The commitment trap
"As low as" is doing real work here — the site itself says the number can move higher, without naming the variable (dose, plan tier) that moves it.
Money you will meet later
- Brand-name protocols (Wegovy, Zepbound, Foundayo) require a $49/month membership fee on top of the medication cost
- "As low as" pricing — PreventiveMD's own copy states actual monthly cost can be higher depending on your plan

What is included
The cheapest headline number in this category is often the one with the least attached to it. Here is what PreventiveMD bundles in, and what it does not.
Clinician consult
Asynchronous by default: a US-licensed provider reviews the…
intake within 24 hours, no video visit required. A live "face-to-face video consult" exists only as a waitlisted, not-yet-launched "Concierge provider" tier.
Bloodwork / labs

read.
Follow-ups and dose changes
Not detailed with a specific cadence on the public site.
Human support
Not itemized beyond the provider-review model; no named coach…
or dietitian role is advertised.
Injection supplies
Not itemized in the pricing copy read; "all-in" is not defined…
to name what it includes beyond the medication.
Shipping
Not detailed with a cost or timeframe on the pages read.
Pharmacy, labs and oversight
The pharmacy
Not named. PreventiveMD's own directory listing acknowledges individual compounding pharmacy partners are not publicly identified.
Oversight
Asynchronous by default: a US-licensed provider reviews the intake within 24 hours, no video visit required. A live "face-to-face video consult" exists only as a waitlisted, not-yet-launched "Concierge provider" tier. Not detailed with a specific cadence on the public site.
Compounded peptides are not FDA-approved products, and a 503A pharmacy compounds for a named patient while a 503B outsourcing facility manufactures in batches under CGMP. Neither is a quality guarantee on its own — a named facility is simply a fact you can check, and an unnamed “partner pharmacy network” is not. Our guide to verifying a certificate of analysis covers what to ask for.
Where you can get it

The honest cons
The part they would rather you skipped
The refund policy is genuinely better than most of this board's, but two things sit right next to it that a reader could easily miss: the headline price is an "as low as" floor the company's own copy says can move higher without naming why, and the brand-name path stacks a $49/month membership on top of the medication cost rather than quoting one all-in figure the way the compounded pricing does.
- Individual compounding pharmacy partners are not publicly named
- Not available in 14 states plus DC, including New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Wisconsin
- "As low as" pricing — the site's own copy says actual monthly cost can be higher, without specifying why
- Brand Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo require a separate $49/mo membership fee on top of medication cost
- Compounded medications are not FDA-approved
None of this is unique to PreventiveMD — the whole category shares it. What we hold against a provider is the part it hides, and the ways vendors hide things are catalogued in our vendor red-flags guide.
How it compares
The providers we rank on our semaglutide provider ranking, in the order that board ranks them. PreventiveMD is not among them: it is reviewed here, not ranked there, and we would rather show you the comparison than pretend the two are the same thing.
- BHBodybuilding Health+One of the deepest peptide catalogues here, and the loosest one
- Enhance MDWrites a flat-price-at-every-dose policy down — and charges near the top for it
- RxSpan MDOral tablet only, at a real $179 monthly rate

- Direct MedsThe plainest price mechanics on either board, from a company with an FDA warning letter
- Synergy RxPublishes a starting number, and nothing about what it commits you to

- Sprout HealthA $150 markdown the site never explains, and a semaglutide price quoted by the quarter
- Strut HealthInjection or troche, but $119 is the auto-refill price only

- MadeMedPrices are published — but there is no monthly option at all

A provider comparison is half the decision. The other half is whether the compound does anything for you at all — and whether it is allowed where you compete. Growth-hormone secretagogues are banned in tested sport, year-round, and a prescription does not change that.
